Sunderland high street after the empty units

High Street West is the main shopping street on the south bank of the Wear in Sunderland city centre.

Empty units on the high street have been recorded by the council and by traders for several years.

The street sits south of Wearmouth Bridge, separate from Riverside Sunderland on the north bank.
